Eligibility Criteria for IBPS Clerk Recruitment 

For the IBPS clerk exam you must fulfill the three most important criteria. They are,

  • Nationality/Citizenship
  • Age Limit
  • Educational Qualification

Even if the candidate fails to meet any one of the eligibility criteria, he will be not eligible to apply for the exam. so be careful and thoroughly check with each criteria.


There are some of the eligibility criteria related to the nationality or citizenship of the candidates. The candidates should be, 

  1. A citizen of India.
  2. A subject of Bhutan or Nepal.
  3. Any Tibetan refugee who settled in India before 1st January 1962.
  4. Person of Indian Origin who has left from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

For categories 2, 3 and 4, candidates should possess the eligibility certificate from the government of India. Or else they will not be considered for recruitment.

Age Limit:

The candidates between the prescribed age limit only are eligible to apply for the IBPS clerk exam. The age limit for IBPS clerk exam is given below,

Educational Qualification:

The candidates should possess any graduate degree in any stream under the government recognized university or its equivalent. thus he must have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate after clearing the exam. Other additional qualifications that a candidate should possess are,

  • Local language proficiency.
  • Working knowledge in computer systems.

Application Fee:

The application fee must be paid through the online mode. Also, the fee payment must be done within the IBPS clerk recruitment 2019 last date. The last date will be known only after the official notification release.

  • Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates
  • Rs.600/- for all other candidates.

IBPS Clerk Recruitment Procedure:

There are two stages in the IBPS clerk recruitment process. Also, there is no interview scheduled for the IBPS clerk recruitment process. 

  1. Online preliminary exam
  2. Mains exam

Prelims: The Prelims exam will have three sections namely the English language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. There are a total of 100 questions to be completed within 60 minutes of time duration. Also, there is a sectional timing of 20 minutes for each section. So you can attend the next section only after the ongoing section ends. The candidates clearing the prelims exam will face the mains exam. In this exam if you mark wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Mains: It is also an online test comprising of 4 sections that are the English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Computer Knowledge. The total time allotted for the exam is 160 minutes. There are totally 190 questions. Like the prelims exam, the mains exam will also have sectional timing. The penalty for the wrong answer is 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question. the candidates clearing the mains exam will get the provisional allotment order.

How to Apply for IBPS Clerk Recruitment?

Only online mode of application is accepted for IBPS Clerk recruitment. Please check the IBPS clerk recruitment 2019 last date and apply before of it.   • Visit www.ibps.in and select the CRP clerks section in the main menu. There click the option for the new registration.
  • Click on the link ‘CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION’ to get the online application form page to appear on the screen.
  • After the successful registration, you will get your registration number and the password to your email and mobile.
  • Then use your registration number and password to log in. In the first page of the online application give your basic details without any mistake. After finishing the first page click the ‘SAVE AND NEXT’ option.
  • Then in further stages, you have to give your details of educational qualification and work experience.
  •  You have to upload some scanned copies at the needed space.
  • The size of the photograph uploaded should be of 4.5*3.5 cm. Also, the scanned copy of the photograph must be in size of 20kb to 50kb.
  • The scanned copy of the signature uploaded should be in the size of 10kb to 20kb.
  • The left thumb impression’s scanned copy should be in the size of 20kb to 50kb.
  • The handwritten declaration should be written with a black ink pen. The range of its scanned copy size is 50kb to 100kb.
  • After uploading all the copies give SAVE AND NEXT.
  • Then select the banks as per your order of preference. The final stage is the online fee payment.
  • The fees can be paid through any of debit card, credit card, or net banking and other online channels.
  • Give the final SUBMIT button to complete your application.
