The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts IBPS Clerk bank exam to recruit for Clerical Cadre post in public sector banks. IBPS provides recruitment services to all the Public-Sector banks and regular member banks of IBPS society. IBPS only accepts online applications through its official website for registration of the examination.

IBPS Clerk exam is held at various locations across India and the mode of examination is online. There are total of 7275 vacancies by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. Eligibility Criteria for IBPS Clerk Recruitment

The candidates who are applying for the above post should meet the following nationality citizenship criteria:

  1. Should be a citizen of India
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  3. Any Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
  4. Person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

The candidates who belong to category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favor.

Age Eligibility:

The candidate must be minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years to apply for the Clerk post.

Education Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification is any Graduation degree in any stream from any University recognized by the Government of India.  Further, the candidate’s percentage of marks obtained in Graduation should be mentioned at time of registration for the IBPS Bank-Clerk examination. The candidate must possess knowledge in computer operation. The candidate should have good verbal, written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT. The aspirant must know how to read, write and speak that language.

Selection Process:

The candidate must pass the two phases to get selected for Probationary post. These three phases are as follows:

  1. Prelims
  2. Mains

Let us take a glance on these three phases:

  1. Prelims: The Prelims exam comprises of an online test consisting of 3 sections namely English language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The total time allotted for the exam is 1 hour. There are total 100 questions.
  1. Mains: The candidates who pass Prelims exam will attend Mains exam. It is also an online test comprising of 4 sections that are English language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Computer Knowledge. The total time allotted for the exam is 160 minutes. There are total 190 questions.

How to Apply for IBPS Clerk Recruitment?

  1. Please follow these instructions to fill the online application for IBPS Clerk 2018:
  2. Visit the official website- ibps.in.
  3. Then, you will find a link on the screen that is “Click here for New Registration”.
  4. Please fill all the information that is asked out in the online application. After that click on ‘Save and Next ‘button.
  5. Candidate should upload the scanned photo and signature according to the given dimensions. Then, click on the ‘Next’ button.
  6. Next, enter your academic qualifications. Fill the details accurately and then opt for the order of bank preferences. Next, click on ‘Save and Next’ button.
  7. Review your complete application form once again. In case, if you want to make any changes, please do it. Once you click the Submit button, you cannot make any changes in your IBPS Clerk online application.
  8. Next, pay the application fee in Online Mode only.
  • The payment can be done using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS(Immediate Payment Service), Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets by providing information asked accordingly.
  • After submitting, an extra page of the form will be displayed where candidates should follow the instructions and fill the requisite details.
  • In case, the online transaction is not completed, candidates should login again with their provisional registration number and password and pay the application fees online.
  • Candidates should take a printout of the electronic receipt and online application form. Please make sure that if the same cannot be generated, then the online transaction was not successful.
  • After you submit your payment information, please wait for the intimation from server, do not press back or refresh button.
  • Candidates who are paying using their Credit Card, all charges will be in Indian Rupees. So, if you are using a non-Indian credit card, then your bank will change it into your local currency based on the current exchange rates.
  • In order to secure your data, close the browser window after your transaction is completed.
  1. Click on Submit button. After submitting the online application, your registration number and password will be displayed on the screen. Take a print-out of it. Please note your provisional registration number and password. Further, an e-mail and SMS will be sent regarding the provisional registration number and password. Later, if the candidate wants to review the application form, then reopen it after entering registration number and password.

There is a special note for visually impaired candidates.

  • It is the sole responsibility of the visually impaired candidate to verify the details carefully that has been filled in the application.
  • If the online application is incomplete such as without proper dimension for your photograph and signature or unsuccessful payment, then form would not be considered.
