IBPS RRB PO Mains Reasoning Ability Questions 2019 (Day-11)

Direction (1-5): Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below.

Eight persons L, M, N, O, P, Q, R and S are sitting in a straight line. Some of them are facing north and some of the, are facing south. Person’s name starts with consecutive alphabets does not sit next to each other. Each one of them is in different age 27, 34, 39, 19, 15, 23, 17 and 42 but not necessarily in the same order.

O sits third to the left of L. O sits at one of the extreme end. More than four persons sit between O and the one whose age is a cube of a number. S sits third to the right of R. R faces south. S does not sit at any of the extreme end. S and L are not immediate neighbours.  Average age of Q and S is one year more than the age of M. P is the youngest. Age difference of R and S is 2 years. More than three persons sit between N and O. Only one person sits between P and the one whose age is 23. The one who is the eldest and the one who is the second eldest are not immediate neighbours. The immediate neighbours of R as well as N faces same direction. The one who is the eldest and the one who is the youngest are facing opposite direction. Not more than three persons are facing south.

Direction (6-10): Study the following information carefully and answer the questions given below.

Eight persons S, M, L, J, Y, T, P and C studies in different college B, G, N, D, X, F, R and V. They belong to three different departments Civil, Mechanical and IT department but not necessarily in the same order. Not more than three persons studying in the same department.

T belongs to Mechanical department. Only P and C belong to same department. The one who is studying in college G belongs to Civil department.  Neither P nor C studies in college G. M studies in college D. Neither Y nor J belongs to Civil department. The persons who are studying in college N and J belong to the same department. T studies in college X. The one who is studying in college V and the one who is studying in college F belong to different departments. L and S neither studying in college V nor studying in college F. C does not studying in college V. The one who studying in college V does not belong to same department as the one who is studying in college N. M and the one who studying in college R does not belong to the same department. L does not studying in college B.

Directions (1-5):

O sits third to the left of L. O sits at one of the extreme end. More than four persons sit between O and the one whose age is a cube.

S sits third to the right of R. R faces south. S does not sit at any of the extreme end. S and L are not immediate neighbours.

Average age of Q and S is one more than the age of M.

Only two cases is possible among the given age

Case 1: Q=39, S=17, M=27

Case 2: Q=17, S=39, M=27

Age difference of R and S is 2 years.

According to the above condition only case 1 is possible.

P is the youngest. So P=15.

Only one person sits between P and the one whose age is 23. The one who is the eldest and the one who is the second eldest are not immediate neighbours.

T belongs to Mechanical department. Only P and C belong to same department.

Case 2 will be dropped because the one who is studying in college G belongs to Civil department.  Neither P nor C studies in college G.

M studies in college D. Neither Y nor J belongs to Civil department.

The persons who are studying in college N and J belong to the same department. T studies in college X. The one who is studying in college V and the one who is studying in college F belong to different departments. L and S neither studying in college V nor studying in college F. C does not studying in college V. The one who studying in college V does not belong to same department as the one who is studying in college N. M and the one who studying in college R does not belong to the same department. L does not studying in college B.

Case 1(a) will be dropped because L does not study in college B.
