1). E)Let the inital quanity of A, B and C is 400, 200 and 300ml
After Ist replacement
A. 200 + 450 = 650
B. 100 = 100
C. 150 = 15
After IInd replacment
325 = 325
50 + 450 = 500
75 = 75
In IIIrd Step Ratio
A 325 325 13
B 500 500 20
C 75 + 225 300 12
% of liquid C = (12/45)×100 = 26 2/3%

2). C) Money invested in the ratio of = 5 : (7/2) : (11/2)
= 10:7:11
The ratio of duration of investment = 2 : (8/3) : (4/3)
= 6 : 8 : 4
= 3 : 4 : 2
ratio of their profit = 10 × 3 : 7 × 4 : 11× 2
= 30 : 28 : 22 = 15, 14, 11
profit % of A = (15/40) × 100 = 37.5%

3). D) Let the present ages of son and daughter be 7x and 8x.
The age of lady = 15x
Now, (7x + 3) / (8x – 6) = 4/3
or, 21x + 9 = 32x – 24
or, 11x = 33
x = 3
son’s age = 21yrs
daughter = 24 yrs
age of lady = 45 yrs
required ratio = 45/(21+4) = 9/5 = 9 : 5

4). C) Let the number be 10x + y
As per first condition y = 2x – 1
As per second condition 9y – 9x = (1/2)(10x y 1)
or, 18y – 18x = 10x + y + 1
17y – 28x = 1
on solving both the equations. x = 3 y = 5
Thus, number 10x + y = 10 × 3 + 5 = 35

5). D) quantity of A in the first alloy = 3/8
quantity of A in the second alloy = 7/16
Let the two alloys are mixed in the ratio of x : y
% of ‘A’ is new mixture = { [(3x/8) + (7y/16)] / (x+y) } × 100%
It is given that the % of ‘A’ in the new mixture is
= 42 6/7% ie 300/7%
Or, { [(3x/8) + (7y/16)] / (x+y) } × 100% = 300/7
Or, (6x + 7y) / [16 (x + y)] = 3/7
or, 42 x + 49 y = 48 x + 48 y
or, 6 x = y ie. x/y = 1/6
x : y = 1 : 6

6). C)Let the mangers get x Rs.
(7/12) × (x/30000) = 7/5
x = 72000 Rs.
Total money = 72000 × 28 × (12/7) = 34.56 lakh

7). B) Total discount given -10 -15 + (150/100)
– 25 + 1.5
– 23.5
let CP of article be Rs.100
then SP of article = Rs.153
labelled price = 153 / [(100-23.5) × (1/100)]
= 153 / [76.5×(1/100)]
labelled price = Rs.200
on giving 20% discount = SP = 200 – 200 × (20/100)
= 200 – 40 = 160
profit = 160-100 = 60% profit

8). D)The ratio of efficiency of Pradeep and Kishan
= 125/100 = 5/4
The no. of pages that can be typed by Pradeep and Kishan together in 1 hr. = 1008 / (12 × 7) = 12
The pages typed by Pradeep = 12× (5/9) = 20/3 = pages
= (20/3) × 333 = 2220 words/hr.

9). D) Ratio of their speed = √(17.64) /(12.25) = 4.2/3.5 = 6/5

10). B)sum = diff × (100 / r)2
or, 46000 = (73.6 × 10000) / r2
or, r2 = 736/46 = 16
