**Answers:**

**Answer c**

Raju’s present age = 17 years

After 5 years, Jegan’s father’s age = 3*Raju’s age

= > 3*17 = 51 years

Present age of Jegan’s father = 46 years

Jegan’s present age = (1/5)* Jegan’s father’s age after 4 years

= > J = (1/5)*50

= > J = 10

Jegan’s present age = 10 years

**Answer b**

The present age of Gowtham and Mano = 42 : x

Mano = Gayathri – 8

Gayathri’s age = 32 – 7 = 25 years

Mano = 25 – 8 = 17

Gowtham’s age – Mano’s age = Gayathri’s age

Gowtham’s age = 17 + 25 = 42

The value of x = 17 years

**Answer a**

Let the ages of 3 daughters be x, y and z

According to the question,

x+y+z+24 = 85

x + y + z = 85-24 = 61

Possible square numbers are, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49

So,

The ages are, 9, 16 and 36

The age of Moni = 36, Sree = 16 and Subha = 9 years

The age of Moni, 3 years ago = 33 years

**Answer d**

The ratio of present age of Nivetha and Renuka = 3 : 5

Nivetha = Banu – 7

After 8 years, Banu’s age = 30

Present age of Banu = 22

Nivetha = 22 – 7 = 15

3’s = 15

1’s = 5

Present age of Renuka = 5’s = 25 years

**Answer e**

Let the age of Saaru and her father be x and y,

2x + y = 79–>(1)

X + 2y = 104 –>(2)

By solving (1) and (2),

Y = 43, X = 18

The average age of Saaru and her father and mother = 32

Sum of the ages of Saaru and her father and mother = 32*3 = 96

Present age of Saaru’s mother = 96 – (43 + 18) = 35 years

**Answer a**

Let the age of Vasu be x,

Sum of the ages of Vasu, Ravi, Chitra and Naveen = 78

Vasu + Ravi + Chitra + Naveen = 78

Vasu = Ravi + 5

Chitra = Naveen + 3

Vasu = 9*Naveen

According to the question,

= > x + x – 5 + (x/9) + 3 + (x/9) = 78

= > 2x +(2x/9) = 80

= > 20x = 720

= > x = 36

Vasu = 36 years

Chitra = (Vasu/9) + 3 = (36/9) +3 = 7 years

**Answer c**

The present ratio of age of A and B = 5: 6

8 years hence, the ratio of age of A and B = 7: 8

According to the question,

(5x + 8)/(6x + 8) = (7/8)

40x + 64 = 42x + 56

2x = 8

X = 4

The present age of A = 20, the present age of B = 24

Required sum = 20 + 24 = 44 years

**Answer d**

The sum of the present age Raji and her son = 70 years

Raji + Raji’s son = 70

15 years ago, the ratio of the age of Raji and her son = 3: 1

According to the question,

3x + 15 + x + 15 = 70

4x = 70 – 30

4x = 40

X = 10

Present age of Raji’s son = x + 15 = 25 years

**Answer b**

Ashok got married 14 years ago,

Present age of Ashok = (7/5)*Ashok’s age at the time of marriage

Present age of Ashok: Ashok’s age at the time of his marriage = 7: 5

= > 2’s = 14

= > 1’s = 7

Present age of Ashok = 7’s = 49

Ashok’s brother = Ashok – 10 = 49 – 10 = 39 years

The age of Ashok’s brother at the time of his marriage = 39 – 14= 25 years

**Answer a**

5 years ago, the ratio of age of the father and his son = 3: 1(3x, x)

7 years hence, the ratio of age of the father and his son = 19: 9

According to the question,

(3x + 12)/(x + 12) = (19/9)

27x + 108 = 19x + 228

8x = 120

X = 15

The present age of the father and his son = (3x + 5), (x + 5) = 50, 20

The average Present age of the father, mother, son and daughter = 30

Total Present age of the father, mother, son and daughter = 30*4 = 120

Total present age of the mother and her daughter = 120 – 70 = 50

Let the present age of mother and daughter be A and B,

A + B = 50—>(1)

A – B = 30—>(2)

By solving the equation (1) and (2),

A = 40, B = 10

The present age of the daughter = 10 years
