Directions (Q. 1 – 5)

1.Answer b

Total population in state P and Q in the year 2013 and 2015 together

 = > 27 + 33.5 + 30 + 35.5 = 126 lakhs

Total population in state Q and R in the year 2014 and 2016 together

= > 28.5 + 32.5 + 30.5 + 41 = 132.5 lakhs

Required % = (126/132.5)*100 = 95 %

2.Answer a

2013 = > 36 + 33.5 + 27 = 96.5 lakhs

2014 = > 36 + 32.5 + 28.5 = 97 lakhs

2015 = > 35.5 + 34 + 30 = 99.5 lakhs

2016 = > 30.5 + 37 + 41 = 108.5 lakhs

2017 = > 42.5 + 39 + 32 = 113.5 lakhs

Required % = (3/2.5)*100 = 120 %

8.Answer c

The total literate population in State Q

= > 500000*(7/10) = 350000

The total illiterate population in State T

= > 600000*(5/12) = 250000

Required difference = 350000- 250000 = 100000

9.Answer a

The total illiterate population in State R and S together

= > 450000*(4/15) + 250000*(2/5)

= > 120000 + 100000 = 220000

The total literate population in state T

= > 600000*(7/12) = 350000

Required ratio = 220000: 350000 = 22: 35

10.Answer c

The total literate population in State R and total illiterate population in State S

= > 450000*(11/15) + 250000*(2/5)

= > 330000 + 100000 = 430000

Required average = 430000/2 = 215000
