1) Quantity I: The ratio between the present age of A and B is 1 : 2. The present age of C is 9 years more than that of A but 9 years less than that of B. Find the age of A, after 4 years?

Quantity II: The ratio of the present age of P and Q is 3 : 4. Present age of R is 4 years more than the present age of Q. The average present age of P, Q and R together is 16 years. Find the present age of R?

2) Quantity I: The sum of 5 consecutive even number is 160. Then find the smallest even number?

Quantity II: 32

3) Quantity I: The age of the teacher, if the average age of 28 students is 15 years. When the age of the teacher be included, the average increases by 1.

Quantity II: 5 years ago, the ratio of age of A and B is 4 : 1. If the difference between their ages is 30 years, then find the present age of A?

I) 150 m long train crosses a pole in 8 sec but crosses a platform in 24 sec.

I) The area and length of the rectangular plot is 448 Sq m and 28 m respectively.

II) The perimeter of the square plot is twice that of perimeter of rectangular plot.

Directions (Q. 1 – 3):

Quantity I:

The ratio between the present age of A and B = 1 : 2 (x, 2x)

Present age of C = Present age of A + 9 = x + 9

Present age of C = Present age of B – 9 = 2x โ 9

According to the question,

X + 9 = 2x โ 9

X = 18

The age of A, after 4 years = 22 years

Quantity II:

The ratio of the present age of P and Q = 3 : 4 (3x, 4x)

The present age of R = 4x + 4

According to the question,

3x + 4x + 4x + 4 = 48

11x = 44

X = 4

Present age of R = 20 years

Quantity I > Quantity II

Quantity I:

X + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 = 160

5x + 20 = 160

5x = 140

X = 28

Smallest number = x = 28

Quantity II:

Quantity I < Quantity II

Quantity I:

Total age of 28 students = 28*15 = 420

Total age of 28 students + 1 teacher = 29*16 = 464

The age of the teacher = 464 โ 420 = 44 years

Quantity II:

5 years ago, the ratio of age of A and B = 4 : 1(4x, x)

According to the question,

4x โ x = 30

3x = 30

X = 10

The present age of A = 4x + 5 = 45 years

Quantity II > Quantity I

Directions (Q. 4 – 5):

Statement I:

Let the platform of length be x,

The speed of the train is equal.

(150/8) = [(150 + x)/24]

450 = 150 + x

X = 300 m

Statement I is sufficient to answer the question.

Statement II:

Speed = (Train length + Platform length)/Time

Train length is not given. So we canโt find the platform length.

From Statement I and II,

Area of rectangle = lb

448 = 28*b

b = 448/28 = 16 m

Perimeter of rectangular plot = 2*(l + b) = 2*(28 + 16) = 88 m

The perimeter of the square plot = 2*88 = 176 m

4a = 176

Side (a) = 176/4 = 44 m

Area of the square plot = a2 = 1936 Sq m

The total number of Story books in shop P, R and T together

= > 7500*(12/100)*(8/15) + 7500*(24/100)*(1/3) + 7500*(26/100)*(7/13)

= > 480 + 600 + 1050 = 2130

Required average = 2130/3 = 710

Total number of sold books in shop Q

= > 7500*(18/100)*(80/100)

Total number of sold books in shop S

= > 7500*(20/100)*(90/100)

Required % = {[7500*(18/100)*(80/100)]/[ 7500*(20/100)*(90/100)]}*100

= > 80%

The total number of Story books in shop Q and S together

= > 7500*(18/100)*(3/5) + 7500*(20/100)*(2/5)

= > 810 + 600 = 1410

The total number of horror books in shop P and T together

= > 7500*(12/100)*(7/15) + 7500*(26/100)*6/13)

= > 420 + 900 = 1530

Required ratio = 1410 : 1320 = 47 : 44

Total number of horror books in shop Q and S together

= > 7500*(18/100)*(2/5) + 7500*(20/100)*(3/5)

= > 540 + 900 = 1440

Total number of books in shop T = 1950

Required % = [(1950 โ 1440)/1950]*100 = 26 % less

The total number of horror books in shop Q, R and S together

= > 7500*(18/100)*(2/5) + 7500*(24/100)*(2/3) + 7500*(20/100)*(3/5)

= > 540 + 1200 + 900 = 2640

Total number of books sold in shop P = 900

Required difference = 2640 โ 900 = 1740
