RRB JE Notification:

The last recruitment notification released by the Railway Recruitment Board was for RRB JE 2019 exam. According to the official notification released on December 29th, 2018 Centralized Employment Notification CEN 03/2018 the RRB has notified a total of 13,487 vacancies for the Junior Engineer categories throughout various zones.

RRB JE Vacancy:

The Railway Recruitment Board will announce the number of vacancies for the year 2020 at the time of releasing the official notification. The RRB JE Vacancy 2019 vacancies announced in the year 2019 are 13,487.

RRB JE Eligibility Criteria:

 The Railway Recruitment Board has set the Eligibility Criteria for the posts of Junior Engineer(JE), Depot Material Superintendent & Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant. The eligibility criteria consist of age limit, educational qualification, medical verification, and citizenship. The application for the RRB JE Exam can only be completed once the prescribed eligibility criteria for the same have been fulfilled. Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria carefully while filling the application for the RRB JE. For your guidance here we have given in detail.

RRB Junior Engineer Eligibility – Nationality

As per the RRB Exam eligibility regarding nationality, a candidate must belong to the following categories:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with to permanently settle in India.

As per the prescribed age criteria given in the official notification candidates should possess

Shortlisting of Candidates for the DV shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in 2nd Stage CBT. The normalization scheme to be adopted for shortlisting the candidates from 1st Stage CBT to 2nd Stage CBT and for DV on the basis of performance in 2nd Stage CBT is detailed below

RRB JE Admit Card:

SMS and email messages will be sent to all eligible candidates about the e-Call letter and upload details on their registered mobile number and email ID. However, candidates should regularly visit the website of RRB as there can be a failure in the delivery of SMS/E-mail to the candidates due to reasons beyond the control of RRBs. Eligible candidates can download RRB Junior Engineer Admit Card along with Annexure V(D) (declaration for a scribe, wherever applicable) from the RRBs websites about 10 days before the date of the CBT/Document Verification (as applicable). A call letter will not be sent to candidates by post.

Steps to download RRB JE Admit Card

  1. Visit your respective regional RRB website of the region you have applied for.
  2. Give your login credentials. You can choose to enter it in either English or Hindi.
  3. Enter the Registration Number that you have received during the time of application.
  4. You will then be redirected to a page where you should Download RRB JE Admit Card
  5. Enter your date of birth in the format prescribed or your password as received by you at the time of application
  6. Then after the submission, Railway JE Admit Card PDF will be displayed on your screen.
  7. You can download your RRB Junior Engineer Admit Card and take a printout for your exam purpose.

RRB JE Result:

RRB JE CBT 1 Result & CBT 2 Result has been released in the respective regional official site. Candidates who have qualified the RRB JE CBT 1 exam will be eligible to attend the CBT 2 exam. Candidates who have appeared for the CBT 2 exam and getting qualified will be eligible to attend the Document Verification round. Candidates shortlisted for DV are required to produce all original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies
of all documents at the time of DV.

RRB JE Exam – Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Are the candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation eligible to apply for the RRB JE Notification?

Ans. No, the candidates appearing for the final year or awaiting the final result of the prescribed educational qualification are not eligible to apply for the notification. He/She must possess the prescribed qualification before filling the online application.

Q. Is there negative marking for wrong attempts in RRB JE paper II?

Ans. Yes, there is a negative marking of 1/3 rd marks for each wrong answer in CBT 1 & 2.
Q. What is the minimum eligible marks for each category?
Ans. UR – 40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%.
Q. Is there any interview for the selection of RRB JE candidates?

Ans. There is no interview round in the Railway JE recruitment process. RRB Junior Engineer official notification has never mentioned any details regarding the Interview/personality test/group discussion or any such process.
