1). Exchequer (Noun) – कोष

Definition: the account at the Bank of England in which is held the Consolidated Fund, into which tax receipts and other public monies are paid.

Synonyms: fund, money, investment.

Antonyms: natural evaluation

Usage: each of the protesters will be liable to a fixed fine, which could raise £200m for the Exchequer

 

2). Betraying (Verb) – विश्वासघात करना

Definition: expose (one’s country, a group, or a person) to danger by treacherously giving information to an enemy.

Synonyms:  break one’s promise to, be disloyal to, be unfaithful to, break faith with, play someone false, fail

Antonyms: promise, loyal, protective.

Usage: a double agent who betrayed some 400 British and French agents to the Germans

 

3). Envisaged (Verb) – परिकल्पना की गई

Definition: contemplate or conceive of as a possibility or a desirable future event.

Synonyms: foresee, predict, forecast, foretell, anticipate, expect, think likely, envision

Antonyms: disregard, ingnore.

Usage: the Rome Treaty envisaged free movement across frontiers

 

4). Lacunae (Noun) — एक निर्वासित जगह

Definition: an unfilled space; a gap.

Synonyms: break, cavity, gap, interval.

Antonyms: closure, continuation, misfortune.

Usage: the journal has filled a lacuna in Middle Eastern studies

 

5). Faintest (Adjective) – सबसे मंद

Definition: (of a sight, smell, or sound) barely perceptible.

Synonyms:  indistinct, vague, unclear, indefinite, ill-defined, obscure,  imperceptible, hardly noticeable

Antonyms: clear, loud

Usage: the faint murmur of voices

 

6). Ragtag (Adjective) – अस्पष्ट या असंगठित

Definition: untidy, disorganized, or incongruously varied in character.

Synonyms: different, mixed, motley, assorted, eclectic.

Antonyms: homogeneous, similar, same.

Usage: a ragtag group of idealists

 

7). Coalition (Noun) – गठबंधन

Definition: a temporary alliance for combined action, especially of political parties forming a government.

Synonyms: alliance, union, partnership, affiliation, bloc, caucus

Antonyms: division, divorce, separate.

Usage: a coalition between Liberals and Conservatives

 

8). Bifurcation (Noun) — द्विभाजन

Definition: the division of something into two branches or parts.

Synonyms: split, separate.

Antonyms: joint, agreement,

Usage: the bifurcation of the profession

 

9). Rival (Verb) — प्रतिद्वंद्वी

Definition: a person or thing competing with another for the same objective or for superiority in the same field of activity.

Synonyms: competitor, opponent, contestant, contender, challenger

Antonyms: partner, ally

Usage: he has no serious rival for the job

 

10). Abstained (Verb) – मतदान करने को मना करना

Definition: formally decline to vote either for or against a proposal or motion.

Synonyms:  not vote, decline/refuse to vote

Antonyms: vote, support.

Usage: forty-one voted with the Opposition, and some sixty more abstained
