Every year, 3rd May is celebrated as World Press Freedom Day.

It is also known as World Press Day.

The day acts as a reminder for the government to uphold the right to freedom of expression.

The theme for this year is ‘Journalism under Digital Siege’, focusing on the digital eras impact on freedom of expression, the safety of journalists and access to information.

World Asthma Day (WAD) is observed every year on the first Tuesday of May to raise awareness of asthma and to educate people about the issues that might arise as a result of the disease.

This year, the day is observed on May 3. This year, theme is ‘Closing Gaps in Asthma Care’.

Asthma is a condition in which there is a narrowing of the airways due to swelling of mucosa.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways will to build the first indigenous hydrogen-fuelled electric vessels at Cochin Shipyard Limited(CSL).
