Blue Energy Motors, a two-year-old start-up backed by a Singapore-based firm, unveiled India’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fuelled green truck in Chakan near Pune, Maharashtra.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the launched facility with an installed capacity to make 10,000 of these trucks annually. Blue Energy Motors signed an agreement already with FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies) Industrial, a brand of Iveco Group, headquartered in Italy, to introduce the 1st LNG powered by FPT industrial engines which are BS-VI compliant.

Carnatic vocalist T.V. Sankaranarayanan, 77 has recently passed away. Sankaranarayan was also the son-in-law of Mani Iyer. He was the son of musicians Tiruvalangal Vembu Iyer and Gomati Ammal.

He was an Indian Carnatic vocalist (South Indian classical singer), known for his music that stems from the style of his guru, Madurai Mani Iyer. He received Padma Bhushan in 2003 in the field of Art.

Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu B Chavan stated that the actor has decided not to charge for being the ambassador of the scheme, which is aimed at encouraging adoption by the public to rear cattle in ‘goshalas’ (cow shelters).

Sudeep is known for his remarkable role in films such as ‘’Pailwan’, ‘’Eega (Makkhi)’, ‘’Vikrant Rona, ‘‘Sparsha’, ‘’Huchcha’, and ‘’No 73 Shanthi Nivasa’.

As a part of this collaboration, the IndusInd Bank aims to expand its Micro Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Portfolio and strengthen its strategies for the MSME sector

It covers non-payment by the borrower on the guaranteed portion of the principal and interest due. Aimed to grow its presence in MSME financing, the private sector lender sees this partnership to further strengthen various initiatives taken by it in this area.

London-based Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and Canadian NGO Children Believe have jointly launched a ‘Generation Global Programme’ for schools and colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, at the Zilla Parishad High School at Ragimanupenta in Bangarupalem Mandal.

Tony Blair Institute for Global Change Director Lucy Hayter, who launched the program, said that the initiative was aimed at transforming the mindset of school and college students in the age group of 13 to 17 years, and to make them ‘global citizens.

Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki as the 29th district of the state. It has been carved out of Rajnandgaon district, which had a large area, and people used to take almost the entire day to reach the headquarters, having to travel as much as 170 kilometers.

This has been reduced to 70 kilometers with the inauguration of the new district and also launched projects worth Rs 160 crore. He is scheduled to inaugurate Sarangarh-Bilaigarh and Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandhi as the 30th and 31st districts of the state.

Cyrus Mistry, 54 former chairmen of Tata Sons and scion of the Shapoorji Pallonji group, died in a car accident near Mumbai. Mistry who studied at Cathedral and John Cannon School in Mumbai and London Business School became chairman of the Tata group in 2012, after a year-long search by Tata Sons, the holding company of the $103-revenue group.

The Mistry family owns an 18.4 percent stake in Tata Sons, while the Tata Trusts own a 66 percent stake in the company; the family’s wealth was estimated at $29 billion by Bloomberg.

The unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years and above in urban areas dipped to 7.6 percent during April-June 2022 from 12.6 percent a year ago, According to the National Statistical Office (NSO).

The latest data based on a periodic labor force survey, underlining a decline in the unemployment rate amid improved labor force participation ratio, point towards a sustained economic recovery from the shadow of the pandemic. Among males, the unemployment rate in urban areas dipped to 7.1 percent in April-June 2022 compared to 12.2 percent a year ago. It was 7.7 percent in January-March 2022.

India’s exports contracted by 1.15 percent to USD 33 billion in August, for the first time in over 20 months, while the trade deficit more than doubled to USD 28.68 billion due to increased crude oil imports. According to the preliminary data released by the commerce ministry, imports rose by 37 percent to USD 61.68 billion in August this year.

During April-August 2022-23, exports registered a growth of 17.12 percent to USD 192.59 billion. Imports during the five months of this fiscal grew by 45.64 percent to USD 317.81 billion. Trade deficit widened to USD 125.22 billion in April-August this fiscal as against USD 53.78 billion in the same period last year.

This implies that a large number of children could need screening, assessment, and follow-up remedial support in Tamil medium schools. The high-powered steering committee has been entrusted with the task of overseeing and providing overall guidance on cyber security initiatives for SEBI and further, it will also study major cyber-attack incidents related to financial markets in domestic and global markets and identify gaps in the existing cyber security and cyber resilience framework.
