IDBI Bank has signed a share purchase agreement with Ageas Insurance International to sell its 25 percent stake in Ageas Federal Life Insurance(AFLI) for ₹580.2 crore.
It will be the first foreign investor to use the enhanced foreign direct investment cap of 74 percent for the insurance sector.
The transaction is expected to be completed in Q2FY23, subject to regulatory approvals and satisfaction of the terms and conditions set out in the share purchase agreement.

This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI under the provisions of clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 58 G read with clause (aa) of sub-section (5) of section 58 B of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, taking into account the failure of the company to adhere to the aforesaid RBI Directions.
