The tallest ATC tower in the country which is expected to enhance safety and efficiency of air transport management services over the capital’s skies was inaugurated at the IGI Airport.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the Delhi Air Traffic Service Complex, which is the tallest Air Traffic Control tower in India with a height of 102 metres.

The new complex comprises of three buildings – the Aerodrome Control Tower, Area & Approach Control Services Building and the Administrative Block – constructed at the cost of approximately₹250 crore while the equipment cost ₹100 crore.

The commissioning of the new tower is expected to enhance the efficiency of air traffic management services at the IGIA which is the busiest airport in India.

At a height of 102 meters, the tower enables air traffic controllers to have better visibility of all the three runways, apron area and taxiways.

India has announced a contribution of USD 22 million to the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFTAM) for 2020-22 as part of its commitment towards eliminating these diseases. India shares a sustained partnership with the Global Fund since 2002, both as recipient and as a donor. An increase of 10 per cent over the amount contributed by us in the fifth cycle.

Central Government’s ‘One nation-one ration card’ scheme was today implemented on a pilot basis in the areas under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The scheme will be rolled out in other parts of the state in phases, said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain.

The ‘One nation-one ration card’ scheme enables Food Security Act card holders to collect their ration from any PDS shop across the state.

Beneficiaries need to link their ration cards with Aadhaar cards to avail the facility, a deadline for which has been extended by the State Government till September 15.

Insurance regulator Irdai has decided to review its three-year old guidelines on trade credit insurance in line with the changing requirements of the market.

Trade credit insurance policy provides coverage to supplier of goods and services against delay in payment or non-payments of trade credit.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) has set up a nine-member working group headed by New India Assurance CMD Atul Sahai with an aim to review March 2016 guidelines.

The panel, which has been asked to submit its report in three-months, would study the need and scope for changes in the current guidelines keeping with the times and requirements of various segments of market.

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation has partnered with State Bank of India for direct transfer of benefits electronically into bank accounts of all stakeholders.

SBI will provide e-payment services directly to bank accounts of all ESIC beneficiaries and payees without any manual intervention as an integrated and automated process.

The bank would provide e-payment integration with the enterprise resource planning processes of ESIC through its cash management product e-payment technology platform.

The e-payment integration would effect statutory benefit payments to ESIC beneficiaries as well as other payees on real time basis, reducing time lags and delays and at the same time, help eliminate mistakes and errors caused by repetitive and manual data entries.

The patented simulator was ideated, designed and developed by Chennai based Red Chariots Technologies Pvt Ltd and it took close to three years for a team of 12 engineers to develop the hardware and software, emulating the Indian driving standards and road conditions.
