Seven bankers namely – Payal, Sonal, Deval, Kajal, Hetal, Sheetal, and Kindalhold different designations in the same organization viz.- Assistant Manager (AM), Manager (MG), Deputy General Manager (DGM), Additional General Manager (AGM), General Manager (GM), Chief General Manager (CGM), and Executive Director (ED). Each of them likes different cities viz.- Shimla, Agra, Varanasi, Ooty, Manali, Daman, and Leh. All the information is not necessarily in the same order.

Note:- The designation is given in increasing order starting from Assistant Manager to Executive Director.

Kindal is designated lower to the one who likes Shimla but not as much as Kajal and Hetal. Hetal neither likes Ooty nor the designated lowest. The number of persons designated lower to Hetal is one less than the number of persons designated higher to the one who likes Daman. Two persons are designated between the one who likes Manali and Sheetal. Sheetal is designated higher to the one who likes Leh but not as much as Sonal. The one who likes Varanasi is designated immediately higher to Sonal, who is not designated immediately higher to Sheetal. Payal neither likes Varanasi nor designated immediately lower to the one who likes Leh.

Chief secretary, Principal, Vice principal, Head master, Teaching staff, Non-teaching staff and student. They belong to different places viz. Darjeeling, Kodaikanal, Manila, Munnar, Ooty, Shimla and Thekkady. All the information is not necessarily in the same order.

Note: The Chief secretary is the highest designation followed by the decreasing order of designations and the Student is the lowest designation.

Two persons are designated higher than the one who belongs to Munnar, who has the adjacent designation to B. We have:

  • The one who is an Additional General Manager likes Ooty and is designated immediately higher to Kajal.
  • Two persons are designated between Kajal and the one who likes Shimla.

That means, Chief General Manager likes Shimla.

  • Kindal is designated lower to the one who likes Shimla but not as much as Kajal and Hetal.
  • Hetal neither likes Ooty nor the designated lowest.
  • The number of persons designated lower to Hetal is one less than the number of persons designated higher to the one who likes Daman.

That means, in case (1) Kindal is General Manager, in case (2) Kindal is Additional General Manager.

Based on the above given information we have:

  • Payal neither likes Varanasi nor designated immediately lower to the one who likes Leh.

That means, Payal likes Manali, and Kajal likes Leh.

Based on the above given information we have the final arrangement as follows:

Case (2) is not valid as the one who likes Varanasi is designated immediately higher to Sonal, who is not designated immediately higher to Sheetal.
