Answers:

Directions (1-4):

1) Answer: c)

We have:

38425 ROAD, 46258 PART, 63724 FARE, 62837 LADE, 53924 SIDE

Word preceded by even number = PART, FARE, SIDE.

After adding ‘L’ at 2nd place from left we have:

PLART, FLARE, SLIDE

Thus, only two meaningful word can be formed = FLARE & SLIDE.

Word preceded by an odd number = ROAD & LADE

After adding ‘B’ at 1st position from left we have:

BROAD & BLADE

Thus, only two meaningful word can be formed = BROAD & BLADE.

Hence, option C is correct choice.

2) Answer: b)

We have:

38425, 46258, 63724, 62837, 53924

After rearranging digits within 5-digit numbers we have:

23458, 24568, 23467, 23678, 23459

Clearly, “23467” is third lowest number which belongs to “63724”.

Hence, option B is correct choice.

3) Answer: e)

We have:

ROAD, PART, FARE, LADE, SIDE

After rearranging letters of words in alphabetical order we get:

ADOR, APRT, AEFR, ADER, DEIS

After rearranging words in dictionary we get:

ADER, ADOR, AEFR, APRT, DEIS

3rd letter of second word from right end “APRT” à R

3rd letter of second word from left end “ADOR” à O

Thus, number of letters between ‘O’ & ‘R’ à 2

Hence, option E is correct choice.

4) Answer: e)

We have:

ROAD, PART, FARE, LADE, SIDE

After interchanging letters of the word, we get:

QPBC, OBQS, EBQF, KBCF, RJCF

Thus, no such word are possible.

Hence, option E is correct choice.

Directions (5-8):

L sits at one of the extreme end. Two persons sit between L and the one who likes Brown. T sits opposite to the one who sits second to the right of the one who likes Brown. T faces north. The one who likes Green sits third to the left of T.

The one who likes black sits third to the left of N. R sits opposite to the one who sits immediate right of the one who likes Black. L does not like Black. N and T face same direction. N and the one who likes Brown are not immediate neighbours. The one who likes pink sits opposite to third to the left of R. V sits second to the right of the one who likes Pink. L does not like pink.

B sits opposite to the one who likes silver. Two persons sit between B and the one who likes yellow. The one who likes yellow sits opposite to immediate right of J. B sits left of R.

Case 1: A will be dropped because the one who likes yellow sits opposite to immediate right of J.

Case 1: B will be dropped because B sits left of R.

M sits opposite to the one who sits second right of X. The one who likes white sits immediate right of M. The one who likes Blue sits second to the left of S.
