Answers :

1) Answer: A

SI = P * N * R/100

2025 = P * 15 * 3/100

P = 4500

CI = 4500 * (1 + 15/100)2 – 4500

= Rs.1451.25

2) Answer: A

A = 1/30

Efficiency of A and B = 400:100 = 4:1

Time ratio of A and B = 1:4

B alone complete the work = 4 * 30 = 120 days

C alone complete the work = 1/16 – 1/30 – 1/120 =(30 – 16 – 4)/480

= 1/48

Ratio of work done by A, B and C = 1/30:1/120:1/48

= 16:4:10

= 8:2:5

C’s wage = 5/15 * 27000 = Rs.9000

3) Answer: B

CP of the mobile = x

MP of the mobile = x + 800

SP of the mobile = (x + 800) * 85/100

(x + 800) * 85/100 = x * 110/100

85x + 68000 = 110x

x = 2720

MP of mobile = 2720 + 800 = Rs.3520

4) Answer: B

x * 12:4000 * 6:(x + 1000) * 6 = 2:1:3

4000 * 6/12x = ½

x = 4000

France’s capital = 4000 + 1000 =Rs. 5000

5) Answer: D

3696 = 1/3 * 22/7 * 7x * 7x * 9x

x = 2

Radius of the cone = 7 * 2 = 14 cm

Radius of the cylinder = 14/2 = 7 cm

Height of the cone = 9 * 2 = 18 cm

Volume of the cylinder = 22/7 * 7 * 7 * 18 = 2772 cm3

6) Answer: A

SI = P * N * R/100

4950 = 6600 * R * (R – 10)/100

R2 – 10R = 75

R2 – 10R – 75 = 0

R2–15R + 5R – 75 = 0

R(R – 15) + 5(R – 15) = 0

(R + 5)(R – 15) = 0

R = -5, 15

R = 15%

1260 = (4000 + x) * (1 + 10/100)2 – (4000 + x)

5260 + x = 4840 + 1.21x

x = 2000

7) Answer: E

Length of train A = 4x

Length of train B = 4x *125/100 = 5x

Speed of train B = y

Speed of train A = 2y

4x = (2y + 10) * 5/18 * 14.4

x – 2y = 10

9x = 3y * 5/18 * 25.2

9x = 21y

3x = 7y

(7y/3) – 2y = 10

y = 30

x = 70

Length of train B = 5 * 70 = 350 m

8) Answer: C

Milk in vessel A = 7/12 * 60 = 35 liters

Water in vessel A = 5/12 * 60 = 25 liters

(35 + x)/(25 + 15) = 5/4

4 * (35 + x) = 200

4x = 60

x = 15 liters

Quantity of vessel B = 15 + 15 = 30 liters

9) Answer: D

Number of girls = x/100

Number of boys = (100 – x)/100

(x/100 – (100 – x)/100) * 600 = 120

(x – 100 + x) * 600 = 12000

2x * 600 – 60000 = 12000

1200x = 72000

x = 60

10) Answer: B

Male = 100 – 40 = 60

Female = 40

Total weight of males = 60 * 60 = 3600

Total weight of female = 40 * 45 = 1800

Average weight of the company = (3600 + 1800)/100 = 54 kg
