• A Border Security Force (BSF) veteran and hero of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, Bhairon Singh Rathore has passed away at the age of 81 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
• A senior gamaka exponent and Padma Shri awardee H R Keshava Murthy passed away in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka.
• Veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana, known for his villain and other character roles, passed away at the age of 87 in Hyderabad, Telangana.
• Veteran Sanskrit scholar, Sribhashyam Vijayasarathi, who is known for his poetry, has passed away at the age of 86 in Telangana.
