  • The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the setting up National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC) as a wholly owned Government of India company with an initial authorized share capital of Rs 5000 crore and paid-up share capital of Rs 150 crore.

  • Union Minister for MSME Narayan Rane has launched the MSME Innovative Scheme (Incubation, Design and IPR) along with the MSME IDEA HACKATHON 2022.
  • Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari has inaugurated 19 National Highway projects worth Rs 1407 crore in Haryana and Rajasthan.

  • Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has released the guidelines for the scheme “Strengthening of Pharmaceutical Industry (SPI)”, with a total financial outlay of Rs.500 Cr for the period from FY 21-22 to FY 25-26.
  • Union Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah attended the 37th Foundation Day celebrations of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) as the Chief Guest in New Delhi.

  • Blue Cross of India and Four Paws, an international animal welfare organisation, launched a mobile animal ambulance for street animals in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
  • Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia inaugurated the Delhi Teachers University in Outram Lane in Mukherjee Nagar area of Delhi.
  • Tech giant Microsoft will be setting up its largest India data centre region in Hyderabad at an investment of over Rs 15,000 crore over a period of 15 years.
  • Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presented Rs 51,365 crore tax –free budget for the year 2022-23 in the state assembly.
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated India’s first and largest floating solar power plant at the SPIC (Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation) factory premises in Thoothukudi.

  • On March 08, 2022, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das launched UPI for feature phones called UPI123Pay & he also unveiled a 24×7 helpline for digital payments – DigiSaathi.
  • PSU lender Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has sanctioned a loan of 1,000 crore to Jammu and Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation Ltd (JKIDFC).
  • Insolvency regulator IBBI and Indian Banks Association (IBA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on capacity building for financial creditors on topics related to insolvency, bankruptcy and related subjects.
  • Bharti Airtel, India’s premier communications solutions provider, and Axis Bank, India’s third-largest private sector bank, have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen the growth of India’s digital ecosystem through a range of financial solutions.

  • On March 09, 2022, Yoon Suk-yeol won the 2022 South Korean presidential election to be elected as the new President of the country & he will succeed incumbent President Moon Jae-in.
  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of former finance & revenue secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey as the chairperson of National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge or till the incumbent attains the age of 65 years
  • A notification issued by the Department of Justice in the Law Ministry & according to the Article 223 of the Constitution of India, Justice Vipin Sanghi has been appointed as the acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court with effect from March 13 & he will replace Chief Justice D.N. Patel.

  • India’s first indigenous Flying Trainer HANSA-NG designed and developed by CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, has successfully completed the sea level trials at Puducherry from 19th February to 5th March, 2022.
  • Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) developed Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs) that have been used in radar imaging satellite modules of EOS 04 & it was launched by ISRO on 14th Feb 2022.
  • The 9th Edition of India – Sri Lanka Bilateral Maritime Exercise SLINEX (Sri Lanka–India Naval Exercise) is scheduled at Visakhapatnam from 07 Mar to 10 Mar 2022 & The exercise is being conducted in two phases; Harbour Phase at Visakhapatnam on 07-08 Mar 22, Sea Phase at Bay of Bengal on 09-10 Mar 22.
  • NASA has started the assembly of a new spacecraft named Europa Clipper Spacecraft that will carry out the Europa clipper mission & it has been designed and constructed by Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) .
  • Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) successfully launched a second military satellite, Noor-2, into orbit with the name meaning light in Persian language, into orbit at an altitude of 500 kilometers (311 miles) from earth.
