Milk in 40 liters = 5/8 * 40 = 25 liters

Water in 40 liters = 3/8 * 40 = 15 liters

Milk in 16 liters = 16 * 5/8 = 10 liters

After adding 12 liters Now milk quantity = 25 – 10 + 12 = 27 liters
