Birth Anniversary of  Netaji Subash Chandra Bose- Jan 23rd

Subash Chandra  Bose was one of the tireless freedom fighters who fought for our nation’s independence. Subash Chandra Bose was born on January 23rd, 1897 in Kolkata, West Bengal.  Every year Jan 23rd is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Netaji to pay tribute to his indomitable spirit. This year the nation has decided to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji as ‘ Parakram Diwas'(Parakram – courage).

Highlights of Celebration

  • On January 19, 2021, the Government of India has decided to celebrate  125th birth anniversary of Netaji on January 23 2021, as ‘Parakram Diwas’ to inspire the youths to act resiliently as Netaji did.
  • 125 th birth anniversary of Netaji will be celebrated as the year-long celebrations from Jan 23, 2021, to Jan 23, 2022.
  • The Ministry of Education(MoE)  is going to host a contest for students wherein the students can share videos on Netaji at the Twitter and Facebook page of MoE. Using #MyInspirationBoseji or #MeriPrernaBoseji”tags.
  • The Indian Railways pays tribute to Netaji by renaming of the 12311/12312 Howrah-Kalka Express as “Netaji Express”.
  • PM Modi attends the inaugural function of 125th birth anniversary of Netaji at Victoria Memorial in Kolkata on January 23.
  • A high-level committee has set up and will be headed by PM Narendra Modi for the commemoration of 125 th birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.

  • . An International Conference ‘Re-visiting the legacy of Netaji Subhash in the 21st century’ and an Artists’ Camp is organised at National Library, Kolkata.
  • On 125 th birth anniversary of Netaji, Minister of Tourism& Culture conducts a program ‘Amra Nuton Jouboneri Doot’  based on the theme of Netaji.
  • The celebrations of 125 th birth anniversary of Netaji take place in Delhi, Kolkata and other places associated with INA.
