Solution:
1). D)1st winner can he selected in ways =15C1= 15
2nd winner can be selected in ways =14C1= 14
3rd winner can be selected in ways =13C1 = 13
Total no. of ways = 15 14 x 13 = 2730

2). C)Let Sharmaji’s income be 9x and Pandeyji’s income be 4x.
Let Sharmaji’s expenditure be 7y and Pandeyji’s expenditure be 3y.
 Now, according to the question,
9x — 7y = 2000 … (i)
 4x — 3y = 2000 …..(ii)
 Equation (i) x 3 — (ii) x 7 We of find x = 8000
1 = 8000
4 = 8000 x 4 = Rs.32000
Pandeyji’s income = Rs.32000

3). A)There are 12 letters in PANCHATANTRA. A is repeated 4 times, N for 2 times and T for 2 times
So, n(S) = 12! / 4!2!2!
Now, R and P can be arranged in 2! ways. The ten letters between R and P can be
arranged in 10! / 4!2!2! ways
So, n(E) =(10!/ 4!2!2!) x 2! = 10!/4!2!
Reqd probability = (10!/4!2! ) ÷ (12! /4!2!2! ) = (10!×2!)/12!
= 2/(11×12) = 1/66

4). B)2 children = 1 man
8 children and 10 men = 4 + 10 = 14 men
15 men + 86 boys = 15 men + 43 men = 58 men
58 men finish the work in (14 x 29)/58 = 7 days

5). E)Let the amount invested be Rs.x SI = x — 1437
From formula, (x – 1437) = (x × 8 × 5)100
x = (1437×5)/3 = Rs.2395
Therefore he had invested Rs.2395

6). B)Let the number of passed candidates be x.
According to the question, 35(160 — x) + 65x = 160 x 56
or. 5600 – 35x + 65x = 8960
x = (8960— 5600) / 30 = 3360/30 = 112

7). B)They meet after = (725 × 60) / [(3.5+2.75)1000]
= (725 x 60)/6250 = 6.96 minutes

8). B)Volume of the ball = Volume of raised water = ᅲ(12)2 x 4.75
Now, (4/3) ᅲr3 = ᅲ x 144 x 4.75
or r3 = 513 = 512
 r = 8 cm (approximate)

9). D)Ratio of capital of Anita, Sunita and Manita is (50000 x 3 + 70000 x9) : (40000 x 1 + 30000 x 11) : (70000 × 11)
78 : 37 : 77
Share of Manita in profit
= [77 / (78 + 37+77) ] x18240 = (77/192) x 18240
= 7315

10). E)
Area of path = (16 x 26) – (24 x 14) = 416 — 336 = 80 m2
Area of one tile = 16 × 20 cm2

.•. No of tiles = (80 x100 x100) / (16 x 20) = 2500
