Answers:

Q.1) Answer: b

Required average = ((40*25) + (30*20))/70=1600/70=23 years

Q.2) Answer: c

Let us take five consecutive odd numbers x, x+2, x+4, x+6, x+8 and seven consecutive numbers y, y+1, y+2, y+3, y+4, y+5, y+6

Average of seven consecutive number = y+3=30=>y=27

Sum of the five consecutive odd numbers = 27+25+23+21+19=115

Q.3) Answer: d

Sum of the age of Father, mother and Daughter = 26*3=78 yrs

Sum of the ages of Father and daughter = 21*2+10=52 years

Age of mother= 78-52 =26

Mother’s age after 10 yrs = 26+10=36 years

Q.4) Answer: a

Let us take five consecutive even numbers x, x+2, x+4, x+6, x+8 and six consecutive odd numbers y, y+2, y+4, y+6, y+8, y+10

Given,

X=y+10+1

=>x-y=11—(1)

Y+x+2=75

=>x+y=73 — (2)

Simplify the above equation (1) and (2), we get x=42

Required difference = (482-332)=1215

Q.5) Answer: c

Given,

((9*40)-(4*30))/5=240/5=48 kg

Q.6) Answer: b

Given,

40*5=200

40*4=160

Sum of the remaining chocolates distributed (200-160)/4=40/4=10 students

Q.7) Answer: e

300*500=160*500+x*140

=>150000-80000=x*140

=>70000/140=x=>Rs.500

Q.8) Answer: e

A+B’s weight = 76 kg — (1)

A= B+4 — (2)

Sub the equation (2) in (1),

B+4+B=76=>2B=72=>B=36

A= 40

C=88-36=52

D= 76-52= 24

Q.9) Answer: d

Sum of A, B and C = 90 yrs —- (1)

Sum of A, C and D = 90 yrs —- (2)

C= D+10

A= C-20 (or) D-10

Simplify the equation (1) and (2), we get B=D

Substitute all the values in equation (1) we get A= 20 years

D= 20+10=30 years, C =20+20=40 yrs

Required average = (20+30+40+30)/4=120/4=30 years

Q.10) Answer: c

Sum of the CP of 10 book and 5 notes = Rs.1260

Sum of the CP of 4 books and 2 notes = 504

Sum of the CP of 14 books and 7 notes = Rs.1764

Sum of the CP of 2 books and a note = 1764/7=Rs.252
