Answers :

Direction (1-5) :

1) Answer: e)

I) x2 – 9x – 52 = 0

(x – 13) (x + 4) = 0

X = 13, -4

II) y2 – 7y – 78 = 0

(y – 13) (y + 6) = 0

Y = 13, -6

Can’t be determined

2) Answer: e)

I) 2x2 – x – 36 = 0

2x2 + 8x – 9x – 36 = 0

2x(x + 4) -9 (x + 4) = 0

(2x – 9) (x + 4) = 0

X = 9/2, -4 = 4.5, -4

II) 3y2 + 6y – 24 = 0

3y2 + 12y – 6y – 24 = 0

3y (y + 4) -6 (y + 4) = 0

(3y – 6) (y + 4) = 0

Y = 2, -4

Can’t be determined

3) Answer: c)

I) ∛140608 x + (910 ÷ 70) = 0

52 x + 13 = 0

52x = -13

X = -4

II) 9x + y = -24

9*(-4) + y = -24

-36 + y = -24

Y = -24 + 36 = 12

X < y

4) Answer: c)

I) 2x2 + 19x + 45 = 0

2x2 + 10x+ 9x + 45 = 0

2x(x + 5) + 9 (x + 5) = 0

(2x + 9) (x + 5) = 0

X = -9/2, -5 = -4.5, -5

II) y2 – 17y + 72 = 0

y2 – 8y – 9y + 72 = 0

y(y – 8) – 9(y – 9) = 0

(y – 8) (y – 9) = 0

Y = 8, 9

X < y

5) Answer: a)

I) x = √(20443- 4567)

X = √15876 = 126

II) y = ∛592704

Y = 84

X > y

Direction (6-10) :

6) Answer: c)

The total cost of Mango in shop A

= > 24*30 = 720

The total cost of Orange in Shop B

= > 960 + 425 = 1385

Required difference = 5260 – 1385 = 3875

9) Answer: a)

The total cost of Mango, Orange and Apple in shop B

= > (40*25) + (54*25) + (26*70)
