Application Sums (Slot-2, 3 & 4):
1). A is 2 years elder than B. C’s age is half of B. Average age of A, B and C is 14. What will be the age of Shankar if he is 8 years older than A.
2). A and B started investing 4000 and 8000 respectively in a business. B quits after 8 month and B obtained 1600 as profit after 1 year. Find the total profit?
3). A save 2/5th from his monthly income and invest the remaining in food and mutual funds in the ratio of 4:1. Find the percentage of income spend in foods?
4). A train runs in certain speed crosses a pole in 48 seconds. If train travels at speed of 72 km/hr. Then it pass a platform which is 360m long in 54 seconds. Find the speed of the train while crossing the pole?
5). Area of a right-angled triangle is 30cm^2. Height of triangle is 7cm more than its base. Find the area of square whose side is equal to the base of triangle?
6). Same amount is invested for 2 years at 8% and 6% on simple interest respectively. And interest earned from 8% is 240 more than interest earned from 6%. Find the interest earned from 8%?
7). 72 litres mix contain milk and water in 5:1 ratio. What quantity of milk should be taken out so that the milk remain 45 litre in final mixture?
8). Distance travelled by boat in downstream in 4 hours and half of the distance travelled by boat in upstream in 3 hours. By what percent speed of boat is more to speed of stream?
9). A car travels with 72 km/hr in 1 hours 30 minutes after that it covers 105 km with a speed of 30km/hr. Find the average speed?
10). 18 men work for 12 days and complete the 3/14th work. If 24 men work for 7 days than how much work is still left?
11). Ratio of mil and water is 6:1. If 42 litres is removed from the mixture and 8 litres of water is added to it. In the resultant mixture quantity of water is 62 litres less that than the quantity of milk. Find the initial quantity of water?
12). A and B invested in a business 3000 and 6000 respectively. After 8 months B left. Total profit earned at the end of the year is 3850. Find the profit earned by A?
13). The average of 12 numbers is 88. The average of first 4 numbers is 86 and the average of last 4 numbers is 53. Find the average of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th number?
14). The sum of upstream and downstream of the boat is 36 km/hr. The difference of upstream of and downstream speed is 6km/hr. Find the time taken by boat to cover 63 km in downstream?
15). The length and breadth of a rectangle is in the ratio of 19:11. Its perimeter is 120m. Find the area of the rectangle?
16). Ratio of present age of mother and daughter is 12:5. 10 years hence, daughter’s age is equal to mother’s age 2 years after. Find the present age of daughter?
17). Ram invested 25% of his monthly salary in room rent, food and stationery in the ratio of 3:1:1. He invested half of the remaining in mutual funds. The difference between the remaining amount and food is 9750. Find his monthly salary?

2). The population of a town is 21000. If the population increases at the rate of 10% per annum for the rest 2 years, find the final population?
3). Taps A and B together can fill a tank full in 3 hours. Tap B alone can fill the empty tank in 2 hours. How long will tap A take to vacate the tank if it is 25% filled?
4). The length and breadth of a rectangle are in the ratio 3:1. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 240 meters, what is its area?
