EXPLANATION:

1. Statements (a)+statements (b) gives “No cups are utensils”.
[A+E=E] Now, “No cups are utensils” + Statement (c) gives “Some forks are not cups” (conclusion IV) [E+A=O*]. Hence, conclusion IV follows. The remaining conclusions do not follow.
Answer: d)

2. Statements (b)+ statement (c) gives conclusion III [I+A]. ”All apples are fruits”⇒”Some apples are fruits.” Hence conclusion IV follows.
Answer: d)

3. All dogs are elephants → Some elephants are dogs. Now, ”Some elephants are dogs”+ Statement (b)  gives conclusion II.
[I+E=O]. Also, conversion of statement (b) gives conclusion III. Statement (a) + statement (c) gives conclusion IV [A+A=A]
Answer: b)

4. Conclusion III follows from the conversion of statement (a)
Answer: c)

5. Only II and IV follow. Statement (a) + Statement (b) gives conclusion II [I+A=I]. Conversion of statement (a) gives conclusion IV.
Answer: e)

6. Statement (a) +Statement (b) gives the conclusion “Some sermons are not speeches” [E+A=O*]. Hence, conclusions I and II do not follow. But these two conclusions make a complementary pair (IE-type). Hence, either conclusion I or Conclusion II follows. Statement (b) + statement (c) gives the “ No lectures are advices: [a+E= E]. Again, conversion of :No lectures are advices” gives conclusion III. Hence, conclusion III also follows. Again, ”No speeches are lectures” + ”No lectures are advices” gives no conclusion [E+E=no conclusion]. Hence, conclusion IV does not follow.
Answer: e)

7. None follows [E+E=no conclusion].
Answer: b)

8. All follow. Conclusion I follows directly from the implication of the conversion of statement (c). Conversion of statement (a) gives conclusion II. Statement (a) + Statement (b) gives conclusion III [E+I=O*]. Statement (b) +Statement (c) gives conclusion IV [I+E=O] .Hence, all of the given conclusions follow.
Answer: e)

9. Statement (a) +Statement (b) gives no conclusion [E+O=no conclusion].Therefore, conclusion II does not follow. Statement (b) + Statement (c) gives no conclusion [O+E= no conclusion]. Therefore, conclusion I does not follow. Conclusions III and IV do not follow from statement (b). Therefore, conclusions III and IV do not follow. But these two conclusions make a complementary pair (OI-type). Hence, either conclusions III or conclusion IV follows.
Answer: d)

10. Statement (a) + Statement (b) gives conclusion III [A+A=A]. Now, conclusion III + Statement (c) gives the conclusion “No glasses are bowls”. And its conversion gives conclusion I. Statement (b) + Statement (C) gives conclusion II [A + E = E]. Conclusion IV does not follow from statement (a) and statement (b)

Answer: b)
