1). Stake (Verb) चिन्हित करना

Definition: mark an area with stakes so as to claim ownership of it.

Synonyms: mark off, mark out, demarcate, mark the boundaries/limits of, outline

Antonyms: whole, safety, displace

Usage: the boundary between the two manors was properly staked out

 

2). Envisage (Verb) परिकल्पना करना

Definition: contemplate or conceive of as a possibility or a desirable future event.

Synonyms:  foresee, predict, forecast, foretell, anticipate, expect, think likely, envision

Antonyms: disregard, ignore

Usage: the Rome Treaty envisaged free movement across frontiers

 

3). Infusion (Noun) आसव

Definition: the introduction of a new element or quality into something

Synonyms: extract, decoction, mixture, infiltration

Antonyms: exclusion, erasure, deletion

Usage: the infusion of $6.3 million for improvements

 

4). Staunch (Adjective) प्रतिबद्ध, समर्पित

Definition: very loyal and committed in attitude.

Synonyms:stalwart, loyal, faithful, trusty, committed, devoted, dedicated, dependable, reliable, steady, constant,

Antonyms: disloyal, unfaithful, unreliable

Usage: a staunch supporter of the anti-nuclear lobby

 

5). Exempt (Adjective) – मुक्त

Definition: free from an obligation or liability imposed on others.

Synonyms: absolved, clear, excepted, excluded, favoured

Antonyms: hindered, accountable, prevented, answerable

Usage: these patients are exempt from all charges

 

6). Sovereignty (Noun) संप्रभुता

Definition: supreme power or authority.

Synonyms:jurisdiction, supremacy, dominion, power, ascendancy, suzerainty, tyranny, hegemony, domination, sway, predominance

Antonyms: subservience, subjection

Usage: the sovereignty of Parliament

 

7). Manoeuvre (Noun) पैंतरेबाजी

Definition: a movement or series of moves requiring skill and care.

Synonyms: operation, exercise, activity, move, movement, action

Antonyms: tautness, tightness, browbeat

Usage: snowboarders performed daring manoeuvres on precipitous slopes

 

8). Ratification (Noun) अनुसमर्थन

Definition: the action of signing or giving formal consent to a treaty, contract, or agreement, making it officially valid.

Synonyms: approve, confirm, endorse, establish

Antonyms: deny, destroy, disapprove, disagree

Usage: ratification of the treaty raised problems in several member states

 

9). Confrontational (Adjective) टकराव

Definition: tending to deal with situations in an aggressive way; hostile or argumentative

Synonyms: battle, contest, crisis, dispute

Antonyms: agreement, calm, peace

Usage: he distanced himself from the confrontational approach adopted by his predecessor

 

10). Recrimination (Noun) आलोचना

Definition: an accusation in response to one from someone else

Synonyms:  criticism, attack, attribution, censure, charge

Antonyms: endorsement, harmony, peace, flattery, approval

Usage: there are no tears, no recriminations
