1). Contours (Noun) आकृति

Definition: an outline representing or bounding the shape or form of something.

Synonyms: outline, shape, form; lines, curves, figure; silhouette, profile

Antonyms: round-shouldered, round-backed, asymmetrical irregular

Usage: she traced the contours of his face with her finger

 

2). Levying (Verb) – कर लगाना

Definition: impose (a tax or fees)

Synonyms: impose, charge, exact, demand, raise, collect, gather

Antonyms: free, no charge.

Usage: a tax of two per cent was levied on all cargoes

 

3). Rungs (Noun) – हद

Definition: level in a hierarchical structure, especially a class or career structure.

Synonyms: degree, echelon, footing, level, place, position, rank, ranking, reach(es), situation, standing, station

Usage: we must ensure that the low-skilled do not get trapped on the bottom rung

 

4). Patronage (Noun) – प्रयोजन

Definition: the support given by a patron.

Synonyms: sponsorship, backing, funding, financing, philanthropy, promotion,

furtherance, help, aid

Antonyms: attack, harm, blockage.

Usage: the arts could no longer depend on private patronage

 

5). Protracted (Adjective) – ज्यादा देर तक टिका हुआ

Definition: lasting for a long time or longer than expected or usual.

Synonyms: long lasting, existing for long time.

Antonyms: temporary, shorten.

Usage: a protracted and bitter dispute

 

6). Tussle (Noun) – संघर्ष

Definition: a vigorous struggle or scuffle, typically in order to obtain or achieve something.

Synonyms: scuffle, fight, struggle, skirmish, brawl, scrimmage, scramble, scrum,

fisticuffs, wrestling match

Antonyms: agreement, peace, calm.

Usage: there was a tussle for the ball

 

7). Tallies (Verb) — सहमत या मेल खाते हुए

Definition: agree or correspond.

Synonyms:  correspond, agree, accord, concur, coincide, match, fit, be in agreement, be consistent

Antonyms: disagree, differ

Usage: their signatures should tally with their names on the register

 

8). Stray (Adjective) – भटका हुआ

Definition: not in the right place; separated from the group or target.

Synonyms:  random, chance, accidental, freak, unexpected, casual, haphazard

Antonyms: stay, be direct.

Usage: he pushed a few stray hairs from her face

 

9). Empirical (Adjective) – प्रयोगसिद्ध

Definition: based on, concerned with, or verifiable by observation or experience rather than theory or pure logic.

Synonyms: observed, seen, factual, actual, real, verifiable, first-hand

Antonyms: hypothetical, conjectural, academic, suppositional, speculative, notional, postulatory, conjectured

Usage: they provided considerable empirical evidence to support their argument

 

10). Integrity (Noun) – अखंडता

Definition: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.

Synonyms: honesty, uprightness, probity, rectitude, honour, honourableness, upstandingness, good character, principle(s), ethics, morals, righteousness, morality, nobility, high-mindedness

Antonyms: fragility, division, dishonesty.

Usage: a gentleman of complete integrity
