  • The World Urbanism Day, often known as “World Town Planning Day” is celebrated on 8 November globally, to recognize and promote the role of planning in creating livable communities.
  • International Day of Radiology is observed globally on 8th November every year. The theme for 2021 is ‘Interventional Radiology – Active care for the patient’
  • The National Legal Services Day is observed on November 9 annually in India.
  • World Science Day for Peace and Development is marked and observed every year on November 10.
  • The National Education Day is being celebrated on November 11 to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
  • World Pneumonia Day is observed across the world on November 12 every year to raise awareness, promote prevention and treatment and produce action to combat the disease.
  • Public Service Broadcasting Day is celebrated every year on November 12 as the remembrance of the first and only visit of Mahatma Gandhi to the studio of All India Radio, Delhi in 1947.
  • World Kindness Day is celebrated on 13 November and this day provides us an opportunity to reflect and follow the most important and one of the unique human principles.
  • World Diabetes Day is observed on 14th November every year. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2021-23: “Access to Diabetes Care”.

  • President Ram Nath Kovind has given the National Sports Awards 2021 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award willbe given to 12 sportspersons.
  • Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs & Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep S. Puri has unveiled the statue of Rani Lakshmi Bai at the Maharani Lakshmi Bai college for Women, Bhiwani Rohilla in Hisar (Haryana) through video conferencing.
  • A national interactive webinar for the media has organised by the Union Health Ministry to further strengthen awareness about the month-long Har GharDastak campaign.
  • The 6th Edition of Indo French Joint Military Exercise- EX SHAKTI 2021 is being conducted from 15 to 26 November 2021 in Frejus, France.
  • The 45th edition of the International Kolkata Book Fair will be held at the Central Park ground from 31st January to 13th February 2022.
  • Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemical and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya, the hidden art and craft across the country are being recognised through platforms like “HunarHaat” andit iscarrying forward the Prime minister’s message of “Vocal for Local” to fulfil his vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”. 
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched two innovative customer-centric initiatives of the Reserve Bank of India. The two initiatives, namely, the RBI Retail Direct Scheme and the Reserve Bank – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme was virtually launched in presence of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.
  • Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharanwill be on a five day official visit to Uganda and Rwanda. 
  • The committed price support of over 17,408 crore rupees to the Cotton Corporation of India got Cabinet noded.
  • Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has inaugurated the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2021 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. 
  • Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar has released the Training Modules of Central Sector Scheme at a function in New Delhi.
  • Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Directorate of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D), Ministry of Defence, Israel have entered into a Bilateral Innovation Agreement (BIA) to promote innovation and accelerated research and development in start-ups and MSMEs for the development of dual-use technologies. The agreement was signed in New Delhi.
  • NITI Aayog has announced the top five most improvedaspirational districts in the education sector for the month of September. 
  • UNESCO has included Srinagar city of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in its coveted list of Creative Cities Network (UCCN). 
  • Centre has amended the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011 for enhanced protection of Consumer Rights.
  • Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyalhas launched the 3rd edition of the Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) report, 2021.
  • The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), under the Ministry of Communications, has formed a technology innovation group on the Sixth Generation (6G), to take lead in the development of 6G Technology globally.
  • The annual ‘Ganga Utsav 2021-The River Festival’ was organized virtually on November 1-3 by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) to mark the anniversary of the announcement of River Ganga as the ‘National River’ i.e., November 4th.
  • As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has launched Citizens’ Tele Law Mobile App and felicitated frontline functionaries at a function in New Delhi.

  • The 11th Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) Group meeting between India and the United States was held virtually.
  • On Nov 10, 2021, The United States of America became the 101st member country to join the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
  • Beating the Heat: Sustainable Urban Cooling Handbook report by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) indicates that cities will be the hotspots, if global warming continues.
  • The Government of the United Kingdom (UK) unveiled a £5 coin to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Diwali.
  • During the ongoing 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, aka COP26 (Conference of Parties) in Glasgow, Scotland, a report titled ‘The Adaptation Gap Report 2021: The Gathering Storm’ by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) was released
  • Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri is leading a three-day official and business delegation to UAE to attend the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference ADIPEC.
  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah is chairing the Southern Zonal Council meeting at Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
  • An Indian army cycling team arrived at Benapole, Bangladesh to start a joint cycling rally of Indian and Bangladeshi armies between Nov. 15-24 covering Jessore to Kolkata.
  • The biggest-ever Dubai Airshow began at Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai World Central, with more than 1,200 exhibitors taking part in the five-day show.

  • The Ministry of Jal Shakti has informed that 735 Schemes related to Drinking Water Supply in Uttar Pradesh have been approved.
  • The Odisha government has launchedRakshak, a road safety initiative to save precious lives.
  • UNESCO has included Srinagar city of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in its coveted list of Creative Cities Network (UCCN). 
  • Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the 24th edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit 2021 being organised by the Department of Electronics, IT & BT of the Government of Karnataka jointly with Software Technology Parks of India, from November 17-19.
  • Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and MoS for Earth Sciences, Science & Technology as well as Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh has inaugurated DBT – APSCS&T Centre of Excellence for Bioresources and Sustainable Development and Rural Technology Demonstration Centre at Kimin in Papum Pare District of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Kashmir enabling the soldiers posted in J&K to seek admission in variouscourses.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched two customer-centric initiatives of the RBI with a view to provide opportunities to retail investors to participate in the government securities market and contribute towards nation-building.
  • The Reserve Bank of India has removed restrictions, with immediate effect, imposed on Diners Club International regarding on-boarding of fresh domestic customers onto its card network.
  • Reserve Bank of India has announced its first global hackathon ‘HARBINGER 2021 – Innovation for Transformation’ with the theme ‘smarter digital payments’. Registration for the hackathon starts from November 15.
  • The RBI has imposed several restrictions on Maharashtra-based Babaji Date MahilaSahakari Bank, including capping withdrawals at 5,000 rupees for customers, amid deterioration in the lender’s financial position.
  • Children-focussed fintech, Junio, has launched a smart multipurpose card for pre-teens and teenagers on theRuPay platform.
  • IBM has announced that it had launched a client innovation centre (CIC) in Mysuru, Karnataka. 
  • Tata Motors has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Equitas SFB, to bring financial solutions to its customers.
  • In November 2021, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) appointed Bandhan Bank, a scheduled private bank, as an “Agency Bank” for undertaking government business.

  • India’s retail inflation rate, measured by the Consumer Price Index or CPI, rose mildly in October to48% year-on-year from 4.35% in September due to an uptick in food prices.
  • Country’s Index of Industrial Production, or IIP, grew 3.1% in In August, Industrial production had jumped 11.9 percent.
  • India Post Payments Bank has entered into a tie-up with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company to enable customers, particularly from weaker sections and living in unbanked and underserved areas, to become financially secure and empowered.
  • Oil companies of India will set up 22 thousand Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations on a mission mode in prominent cities and along national highways across the country.
  • Facebook has launched the ‘Grow Your Business Hub’ at the Grow Your Business summit, to help micro, small, and medium businesses to find relevant information, tools, and resources curated to cater to their business goals based on their growth journey.

  • Games24x7 fantasy cricket platform ‘My11Circle’ announced Indian Cricketer Mohammad Siraj as its new brand ambassador.
  • Standard Chartered Securities (India) Limited (SCSI) has named Rajeev Srivastava as the new chief executive officer.
  • The Special Director of the Intelligence Office, Sheel Vardhan Singh, has been appointed the new Director-General of the CISF, while the Director of the National Police Academy, Atul Karwal, has been appointed Director-General of the NDRF.
  • Morinari Watanabe from Japan has been re-elected as the president of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) for a period of three years.
  • Anita Anand (54 years), an Indian-origin Canadian has been sworn in as the 43rd Defence Minister of Canada replacing Harjit Sajjan, who has been appointed as the Minister of International Development Agency.

  • India has been placed at 10th spot with a score of 69.22 in the global Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2022.
