• Tripura Government has set up India’s 1st Bio-Village at Daspara in Sepahijala district.
• The Odisha government launched the Community Harnessing and Harvesting rainwater Artificially from Terrace to Aquifer (CHHATA) scheme – a rooftop rainwater harvesting system with an investment of Rs 270 crore.

• Helios Capital Management PTE Limited Founder Mr. Samir Arora has received in-principle approval for mutual funds (MF) from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

• Foreign lender Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) has committed Rs 125 crore over the next 5 years to support green causes like wetland conservation and energy transition projects in India.
• Max Life Insurance Company Ltd has launched ‘Smart Flexi Protect Solution’, a 3-in-1 offering that provides health and enhanced life cover, along with market-linked investment returns.

• In the exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution, the President of India Shri Draupadi Murmu appointed the senior-most judge, Justice Mr. M Duraiswamy as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court with effect from September 13, 2022.
• An Indian natural gas distribution company, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), has appointed Mahesh Vishwanathan Iyer as the new chairman of MGL.
• Conservative Party leader Liz Truss was formally appointed as the 56th prime minister of the United Kingdom by Queen Elizabeth II at the Balmoral estate in Scotland, UK.
• InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of low-cost carrier IndiGo has appointed aviation industry veteran Pieter Elbers as its Chief Executive Officer.
• Newly elected All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Mr. Kalyan Chaubey chaired Executive Committee and has appointed Shaji Prabhakaran as the new Secretary General of the AIFF.
• Senior diplomat Sanjay Kumar Verma has been appointed as India’s next high commissioner to Canada. 
• Indian superfood brand Pintola, Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) has announced an Indian Football captain Sunil Chhetri, who will endorse their products as a brand ambassador.
• United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Volker Turk of Austria as the next United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, following approval by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
• Dinesh Kumar Batra, Director (Finance) & CFO, has taken additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) 
• Burundi’s President Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye has appointed Gervais Ndirakobuca as the Prime Minister of Burundi.

• Rosneft-owned Nayara Energy has appointed Mr. Prasad K Panicker, director and head of the refinery, as the chairman of the company, effective 3 October 2022.
• The National Electoral Commission (CNE) announced that Angola’s incumbent President Mr. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço won a second term as the President of Angola after the ruling People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) party was declared the winner of Angola’s general election.
• The Chief Justice of Madras High Court, Justice Mr. Munishwar Nath Bhandari has been appointed as Chairman of the Appellate Tribunal under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
