Let quantity of milk and water in the vessel be M and W liter respectively.

Hence; M + W = 90… (1)

According to the 2nd condition;

0.7M + 0.4W = 45… (2)

Solving equation (1) and (2) we will get;

M = 30 liters and W = 60 liters

Hence required ratio = 30:60 = 1:2

Let’s suppose pipe A takes ‘a’ minutes and B takes ‘b’ minutes to fill the tank. It means in one minute A will fill 1/a part of tank and B will fill 1/b part of tank.

Therefore, (1/a) + (1/b) = 1/30 … (1)

Again it is told that when pipe A runs 2 minute less and pipe B runs 3 minutes more to fill the tank. Therefore, (2/a) = (3/b) => a = (2b/3) … (2)

Now in Equation (1), (3/2b) + (1/b) = 1/30

=> (5/2b) = (1/30)

=> b = 75 minutes

And a = 50 minutes

Relative speed of Arun with respect to Varun during 1st hour = 8 – (-5) = 13 km/hr

Now relative speed of Arun with respect to Varun during 2nd hour = 8 – (-6) = 14 km/hr

In this way we will get an Arithmetic series.

Let’s suppose after ‘n’ hours they will met each other.

Sum of ‘n’ terms of an A.P. = n/2 [2a + (n-1)d], where, a = first term and d = common difference

Hence; 112 = (n/2) [(2 X 13) + (n – 1) X1]

=> 224 = n[n + 25]

=> n2 + 25n – 224 = 0

Solving this we will get; n = 7

Profit of Chaman = 2000-1000-600 = 400

Ratio of profit of Amar and Chaman = 1000:400 = 5 : 2

=> Contribution ratio = 5: 2

=> Contribution by Amar / Contribution by Chaman = 5/2

Amar Invested Rs. 10000

=> Contribution by Chaman = 10000*2/5 = 4000

Let ‘t’ be the time taken for the tank to be filled up to 3 metres.

Volume of water flowed into the tank in ‘t’ hours. π(7/100)2* 10000 * t = 3.5 *4.4 *3

t = 3/10 hours = 18 min.
