Answers :

Directions (1-5) :

1) Answer: A

From Statement I,

Total number of employees from A = 900

Total number of employees from B = 1015

Number of male employees from A = x

Number of female employees from A = y

Number of male employees from B = x * 110/100 = 11x/10

Number of female employees from B = y * 115/100 = 23y/20

x + y = 900 —- (1)

22x + 23y = 1015 * 20 —- (2)

(2) – (1) * 22

y = 500

x = 400

Required percentage = 400/500 * 100 = 80%

So, Statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question.

From Statement II,

Total number of employees from A = 900

Total number of employees from B = 1015

Number of male employees from A = x

Number of female employees from A = y

Number of male from = z

Female from B = y + 175

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

2) Answer: D

From statement I,

Distance = x

Distance travelled by bus = 60/100 * x = 3x/5

Distance travelled by car = 40/100 * x = 2x/5

Speed of bus = y

Speed of car = z

(3x/5/y) + (2x/5)/z = 12

3x/5y + 2x/5z = 12

So, Statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

From statement II,

Distance = x

Distance travelled by bus = 20/100 * x = x/5

Distance travelled by car = 80/100 * x = 4x/5

Speed of bus = y

Speed of car = z

(x/5)/y + (4x/5)/z = 12 + 4 = 16

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

3) Answer: D

From statement I,

Radius of the cone = r

Height of the cone = r + 17

So, Statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

From statement II,

Volume of the cone = 1232

1/3 * 22/7 * r * r * h = 1232

TSA = 704

22/7 * r * (l + r) = 704

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

4) Answer: D

From statement I,

Length of train A = x

Length of train B = y

Speed of train A = a

Speed of train B = b

x + y = (a + b) * 5/18 * 36

x + y = (a + b) * 10

So, Statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

From statement II,

Length of train A = x

Length of train B = y

Speed of train A = a

Speed of train B = b

a + b = 150 kmph

y = b * 5/18 * 18

y = 5b

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

5) Answer: D

From statement I,

Abi/Divya = 5/4

(Divya + 4)/(Esai + 4) = 5/3

Esai – Deepak = 8

So, Statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

From statement II,

Bharu – Esai = 10

So, Statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Directions (6-10) :

6) Answer: D

11 + (22 + 2) = 17

17 + (32 + 3) = 29

29 + (42 + 4) = 49

49 + (52 + 5) = 79

79 + (62 + 6) = 121

The wrong number is 119

7) Answer: A

21 * 2 – 3 = 39

39 * 3 – 4 = 113

113 * 4 – 5 = 447

447 * 5 – 6 = 2229

2229 * 6 – 7= 13367

The wrong number is 450

8) Answer: D

(10 – 2) * 2 = 16

(16 – 2) * 3 = 42

(42 – 2) * 4 = 160

(160 – 2) * 5 = 790

(790 – 2) * 6 = 4728

The wrong number is 4730

9) Answer: D

90 * 1 – 10 = 80

80 * 2 – 15 = 145

145 * 3 – 20 = 415

415 * 4 – 25 = 1635

1635 * 5 – 30 = 8145

The wrong number is 8140

10) Answer: E

1 + 93 = 730

730 + 73 = 1073

1073 + 53 = 1198

1198 + 33 = 1225

1225 + 13 = 1226

The wrong number is 1240
