Answers:

  1. Answer: b

Income ratio of Raghu and Raju =5:4

Expense ratio of Raghu and Raju = 2:1

Given,

Raghu’s savings = 5x-2y=12000 — (1)

Raju’s savings = 4x-y=12000 — (2)

Simplify the above equation (1) and (2), we get x= 4000

Raju’s annual income = 16000*12=Rs.192000

  1. Answer: e

Area of 4 walls of a room

= 2(Length + Breadth) * Height

= 2(12 + 10)* 4 = 176m2

Required cost = 176 x 12.6 = Rs.2217.60

  1. Answer e

Let total work

= LCM of 12, 24 and 30 = 120 units

Amrendra’s 1 day’s work = 5 units/day

Birendra’s 1 day’s work = 4 units/day

(A + B + D)’s 1 day’s work = 10 units/day

Devendra’s 1 day’s work {10 — (5 + 4)} = 1 unit/day

Amerendra and Birendra’s 12 days’ work = 12 x 9 = 108 units

Remaining work = 120 – 108 = 12 units

Devendra will do this work in (12 /1 =12 days)

  1. Answer a

Total number of ball pens = n(S)

= 6 + 7 = 13

Reqd probability (6C2 x7C2)/ 13C4= (15x 21)/715 = 63/143

  1. Answer a

Total work = 15 x 60 = 900 units

Remaining work = 900 – 12 x 45 = 360 units

Let x men be added to finish the remaining work in 8 days

Then, (12 + x) 8 = 360

Or, 8x = 360 – 96

x= 264/8 =33

Directions (Q. 6 -10):

6). Answer c

? – 323.5 ≈ 800 ÷ 12.5

Or, ?  ≈ 64 + 323.5 = 387.5 ≈ 388

7). Answer a

(18)?   ≈ (27 ÷ 2.7)2 + 224

=100 + 224 = 324 ≈ (18)2

Or, (18)? ≈ 182

:. ? ≈ 2

8). Answer b

? ≈ (4430 ÷ 44. 3) × 18.75 – 290

=100 × 18.75 – 290

= 1875 – 290 = 1585

9). Answer b

? – 297 = (1/8) × 2768 + 2835.42

≈ 346 + 2835 = 3181

:. ? = 3181 + 297 = 3478

10). Answer b

(?)2 ≈ 69 % of 791 + 238.5

= [(69 * 791) / 100] + 238.5

= 546 + 238.5 = 784.5 ≈ 784

:. ? = √784 = 28

Directions(Q. 11-15)

11). Answer b

Difference of Difference +9, +8, +7….

12). Answer d

14). Answer e

Diff is +4, -9, +16, -25, +36…

15). Answer a

Difference +7, +14, +28, +56

Directions (Q. 16-20):

  1. Answer a

Population in 2014

= 2087250 × 100/115 × 100/125 × 100/132

= 11 lakh

  1. Answer e

Let the population of Maharashtra and Haryana be x at the beginning of 2014.

Population in Maharashtra 2016 = x × 110/100 × 115/100

Population in Haryana 2016 = x × 115/100 × 125/100

Ratio = 110/125

= 22 : 25

18.Answer d

Population in Bihar 2014

= 1388800 × 100/112 × 100/124 × 100/125

=8 lakh

Population in Gujarat 2014

= 1302912 × 100/120 × 100/116 × 100/130 = 7.2 lakh

Required percentage = 7.2/8 × 100 = 90%

  1. Answer c

Population in 2017

= 8.5 × 110/100 × 115/100 × 120/100

= 12.903 lakh

  1. Answer b

Kerala in 2017 = 12.5 × 125/100 × 116/100 × 140/100

= 25.375 lakh

Jharkhand in 2017 = 10 × 121/100 × 125/100 × 136/100

= 20.57 lakh

Difference = 25.375 – 20.57

= 4.805 lakh
